Flower Earrings

All is well with my phone!  After 3 attempts the forth phone finally worked.

We decided to take a girls road trip to Santa Barbara this past weekend. We meaning, mom, Vivian, Luna and me. :)  I found these at a vintage store on State Street...

Super cute, right!  So, I made these earrings...
Even cuter!

All I needed was the below items...
and some glue to adhere the flower to the filigree piece, and then insert an ear wire to the finished item. I bought other findings and that, plus all the charms from eBay, and I'm set for some jewelry making fun!

Until next time!
Luna was ready for the road trip!

No camera

Yep, I have no camera. :(  I use my cell camera to take photos.  On Monday I had to replace my original phone as it wasn't charging.  So, I get a replacement phone and all is well, BUT it won't read SD card. What happens when phone doesn't read SD card?  Well, I can't access the camera as it keeps asking for an SD card!  Poop!  I call Verizon and after an hour the guy says, "Yeah, it's not reading the SD card."  Um, ya think?!?!  The guy sends me another replacement phone.  I get the replacement phone that replaces the original replacement phone and guess what?  Yep, not reading SD card.  The SD card was working just fine on the original phone.  I tried another SD card, and same problem. I called Verizon again and they are sending me another replacement phone but this time from a different warehouse.  OK.  Whatever.  I just need a phone that reads the dang SD card!!!  I'm hoping this new replacement phone works.  So, long story short no tutorials, no photos of food, and no Luna pics!  BUT, I do have this nifty photo of my mom circa 1960...

Isn't she beautiful!
Until next time!

Necklaces

I ordered a bunch of charms from eBay.  I kind of went charm-crazy!  Since I'm slowly getting back to making stuff I decided to do some necklaces.

Until next time!

Salmon Dinner

I can't say salmon without pronouncing the "l".  I try.  I really do.  In my mind I'm saying it correctly but as soon as I open my mouth the "l" sneaks in.  True story.  Regardless of how difficult the little word is for me to pronounce I do like to eat it.  The other day I was surfing the net looking for a new way to make it besides marinated and grilled.  My search ended when I found a recipe located on food.com
So good!
It's called "The Ultimate Salmon Fillets".  I mean, with a name like that I had to try it.  Unfortunately, I didn't exactly have all the ingredients, so I changed it up a bit.
Let me tell you, it is really good.  The creamy sauce on top still let's the salmon flavor through. Vivian and her friend loved it...they had seconds.  Here is the recipe...

Baked Salmon
adapted from here

What you need:
1 lb salmon
1/3 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons mustard (I used spicy mustard)
2 teaspoons finely minced onions
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
salt & pepper

How to:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Cut salmon into service size pieces.  Add each piece onto greased baking dish.

In a medium size bowl combine sour cream, mayonnaise, mustard, onions, and thyme.  Add salt and pepper to taste.

Add mixture to each salmon piece by spreading it on.

Bake for 20 minutes.  When done remove from oven and add parmesan cheese.

And done!
Add a salad or veggies and you have a delicious mean!
Until next time!

3 bracelets

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July holiday!  What did I do...I stayed home.  You see Luna is a tad afraid of fireworks.  OK, she's a lot afraid.  So, on the 4th of July we stay home.  I decided to use the time to make more jewelry by continuing the use of thread and charms.  I made these three bracelets....

Here's the how to:

Supplies:
1. Bangle
2. Embroidery Thread
3. Jump Rings -- I used about 80 rings per bracelet
4. Charms -- I used 3 per bracelet
5. Tools to open and close jump rings
6. Glue

Take the thread and glue end to the bangle and start wrapping...

Wrap until get to the end and then glue the thread to the bangle...

And done!

Well, with the wrapping....now add the jump rings and charms and now you're done!
Until next time!
Luna wasn't in the mood for photos.  This is the best shot I got until a bang from firework scared her.

2 Little Birds....

I've been ordering jewelry supplies through eBay.  I've purchased a lot of charms (still waiting for more to arrive in the mail!).  I love charms.  I love charms on necklaces.  A cute charm...a nice chain...a bead or several...and done.  With that in mind, I made these two necklaces using the charms I mentioned here.

I dig these birdies!

Until next time...
The birdies are cute...but not as cute as my Luna!
