Rose Tutorial

Hello, I finally made a tutorial! Yay me!  OK, first I must apologize in that I ended up using my cell phone camera as the cable for my camera disappeared.  I think it got abducted or simply ran away.  Hopefully it returns soon.  ANYway...I have for you a polymer clay rose tutorial.  Ready? Here you go...

Start with a small piece of polymer clay and knead it into a ball.

Now flatten the shape.

Now roll the flatten cirlce...

Next pinch the end...like this...

After that you build the petals onto the above "base" of the flower (sorry don't know the technical names for the flower parts).  You do this by rolling small balls (like you did before) and then kneading them into flat circles.  These will end up being the "petals" of the rose.  You then add each "petal" to the "base"...like so...
and keep adding....

Now you can shape the petals if you want like so...
Next you bake it following packaging instructions and you can put them on a ring base....

I added some varnish to seal it.
And there you have it my first tutorial.

Until next time.....

  3. Very cool! I used to make these roses out of regular clay and put them on garden signs. I was never so neat and precise as you though! See you next weekend. :)
